Q.What is Hypnosis?
A.Hypnosis is a state of consciousness you enter and leave naturally all the time during your day-to day experiences. It feels very much like day dreaming, or the state between sleeping and waking. Your therapist will assist you to reach this state in a relaxed and easily attainable way.

Q. How does Hypnotherapy work?
A. While in this relaxed state, your conscious mind is still completely aware of what is going on throughout the session, but your subconscious is free to accept positive thoughts and ideas much more readily. This enables you to change fixed negative ideas into strong positive attitudes about yourself and your surroundings. You will find the sessions to be relaxing and very enjoyable!

Q. What conditions can Hypnotherapy help with?
A. There are many issues that respond very well to Hypnotherapy. We generally see people seeking help with:

  • stress management
  • smoking cessation
  • phobias (fear of flying, spiders, etc)
  • anxieties
  • anger management
  • pain control
  • panic attacks
  • confidence/motivations/self esteem
  • sports performance enhancement
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • insomnia
  • memory and concentration problems
  • exam and test "nerves"
  • career/work matters
  • stage/public speaking confidence
Hypnotherapy is completely safe and is generally most effective over 3 – 6 sessions.

Weight Loss Hypnotherapy/HypnoDieting

Weight management under hypnosis is a widely accepted approach that has been available from traditional hypnotherapists for a great many years. Now, however, a newer, more dynamic method has been developed that will begin to initiate changes more rapidly and for these changes to continue on into a whole new lifestyle for the client. There are many reasons for weight gain (or loss) and these have to be addressed and understood before any meaningful change can occur. HypnoDieting allows these insights to be identified, and then acted upon.

Hypnodieting is a highly effective method of managing and controlling weight and is learned through a combination of three main approaches: Firstly, it boosts motivation so that the client is more likely to want to complete the programme; and secondly, through visualisation and 'future pacing' (vividly imagining the desired result), the client is able to establish clear-cut, realistic, and achievable goals. Finally, the Hypnodietng approach will instil greater confidence and self-esteem in the client. This serves to increase the likelihood of the client completing the programme and continuing with these new behavioural patterns long after the therapy is completed. There is no age limit nor any special requirements. Sessions are relaxing and very enjoyable, and clients are fully supported throughout their programme.

Smoking Cessation. “Stop Smoking Forever”

If you are a smoker, ask yourself: “How many times have I tried to quit, or quit successfully for weeks or months or even years, only to start again, feeling ashamed, defeated, and fearful of the consequences?”

In your conscious mind, you still have all the same reasons why you wanted to quit - to regain health and stamina, to avoid social stigma, to dramatically decrease the risk of catastrophic illness, to set a good example for your children, to save money, to become more physically attractive, and the list goes on - so why don't you?

When you discover what the reasons are, and use hypnosis to reprogramme your subconscious mind with healthy replacements for the smoking behaviour that satisfies those needs, you can quit once and for all.

The most important aspect of smoking cessation is the fact that, on a conscious level, you may desperately want to give up smoking, but on a subconscious level, you believe that smoking gives you something. This might be the idea that somehow smoking enables you to relax and manage stress, or perhaps to satisfy a craving for nicotine. It might be about having something to do with your hands; to increase your concentration, to maintain the acceptance of your peer group, or to gain oral pleasure?

The great effectiveness of hypnotherapy as a treatment to turn smokers into non-smokers is now very well known and the integrated approach of The Health Centre practitioners greatly increases this efficacy.
You will enter into a 'partnership' with your therapist who will pledge to actively encourage and support you all the way as you learn to become a non-smoker. This extra input is the 'difference that makes the difference' and that will bring about that all-important change.
